An increase will push the world’s tendency to white while a decrease will push it to a blacker tendency. By talking to the Monumental at the near start of the game and saying yes to his question, reaching pure White Character Tendency will net you a Friend Ring from the Monumental. Reaching a pure Black or White state can make major changes to your location. The mage build uses physical, magic, and fire defenses while resisting bleed, poison, and plague. This build setup maximizes damage output by hitting the softcap for all relevant stats. With a light weapon, you can get 700+AR, but it uses stamina to inflict damage.

The Uchigatana is great for magic builds because of the scaling it receives when upgraded with Darkmoonstone. This bonus, along with the bleed damage it causes is a great way to bring down enemies quickly. If a player doesn’t want to farm for it, the sword can always be bought from the Dregling Merchant. It will cost players a hefty 6,000 souls which is a good amount for the early game, but well worth the investment for such a good strength weapon. The Claymore is one of the highest Strength weapons in the game. Players dedicated to a Strength build should wield this weapon and also consider adding the Crushing upgrade.

Some would consider this game a much more tamed version of a hack-and-slash since the attacks are slower than usual.
